The UK’s largest independent bus operator, McGill’s Bus Group, has joined Transaid as its latest corporate partner, strengthening the charity’s long-standing links with the passenger transport sector.
The initial three-year partnership agreement builds on the company’s sponsorship of the upcoming Scottish Transaid Dinner 2026, taking place at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa near Grangemouth on 4 June 2026.
Ralph Roberts, Chairman for McGill’s Bus Group, says:
“We’re really looking forward to getting involved with all Transaid’s events and fundraisers, especially the dinner, which is set to be a highlight of the industry calendar. It is very clear that the work carried out by Transaid and its local partners is making a tangible difference in sub-Saharan Africa, and we’re excited to help in any way we can.”
McGill’s Bus Group joins more than 30 corporate partners from across the transport and logistics industry, contributing time, expertise and resources to support Transaid’s road safety programmes and access to healthcare initiatives.
Joan Aitken, Chair of Transaid and former Scottish Traffic Commissioner, says:
“McGill’s Bus Group’s commitment to innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to transform lives through safe, available and sustainable transport. Bringing on board such a prominent name in passenger transport to sponsor the Scottish Transaid Dinner is a tremendous honour – and to now welcome them as a corporate partner is a milestone moment. This kind of support is essential to the success of our programmes and reflects Transaid’s ambition to engage more transport operators and their people in supporting our work.”
