The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge raises record funds for Transaid

Transaid would like to extend a huge thank you to Nimble Media and everyone who attended The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge 2026, which raised more than £1,300 in support of our work improving road safety and access to healthcare across sub-Saharan Africa.

About The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge

Held on 18 June 2026 at Newark Showground, the event brought together companies from across the UK logistics and transport industry for a day celebrating equality, diversity and inclusion.

First launched in 2019, The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge has become a much-loved fixture in the industry calendar, highlighting the importance of diverse teams and inclusive workplaces. Delivered by Nimble Media, the event is the only team-based logistics challenge of its kind, bringing people together through a series of physical, mental and skill-based activities designed to test communication, collaboration and teamwork.

This year’s challenges included the Catwalk Challenge, Santa Pod Drag Race, It’s a Knockout, Human Table Football, Silent Disco and Diversity Dance Off. Transaid also hosted its own ‘Bridging the Gap’ challenge, encouraging teams to put their communication skills to the test to assemble bridges from craft supplies and seeing how much weight they could bear.

Promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion

The day opened with a welcome from Richard Atkinson, Teaching Fellow at Aston University and Transaid Ambassador, followed by a powerful speech from Sarah Taylor, a student at Creating Tomorrow College. Sarah shared her experience of living with Cerebral Palsy and the challenges she faced in finding her place and believing that employers would give her an opportunity.

Her message to employers across logistics and beyond was clear: talent comes in many forms, and creating opportunities for people who may not fit the traditional mould strengthens workplaces and industries.

Transaid Communications and Fundraising Officer Georgia Ryan and Corporate Partnerships Officer Kohei Ohno attended the event as representatives of the chosen charity, presenting the Bridging the Gap Challenge Award to ‘Freight Expectations’ from GEODIS.

The Team of the Year Award, presented to the team achieving the highest overall score, went to ‘Flying Logs’ from RAF Training Academy.

A thank you from Transaid

A charity tuck shop and raffle raised more than £1,300 for Transaid — a new fundraising record for the event.

Transaid is extremely grateful to Nimble Media for their continued and valuable support for our work, and to every company, participant, challenge supplier and attendee who helped make the day such a success.

The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge’s commitment to creating a more diverse, inclusive and accessible transport and logistics sector closely aligns with Transaid’s belief that safety and access to opportunity should be available to everyone. Funds raised will support Transaid’s programmes across sub-Saharan Africa, helping to create safer roads and improve access to essential healthcare.
