Team Transaid raises £15,000 at Royal Parks Half Marathon

A dedicated team of runners has raised an impressive £15,000 for Transaid after taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on Sunday 11 October 2026, with participants representing organisations from across the transport and logistics industry and beyond.

With the Autumn sunshine providing ideal running conditions, the team joined thousands of participants for the 13.1-mile (21.1km) challenge, taking in some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks and green spaces.

The scenic route took runners through four of London’s eight Royal Parks: Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James’s Park and Green Park, as well as past famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament.

Representing Transaid were runners from CILT UK, the Cold Chain Federation, Connect Corporate Finance, The Go-Ahead Group, GXO, Hankook Tyre, Iron Mountain, Michelin, PROMAN, the Road Haulage Association (RHA), Shape Tomorrow and WaterAid, alongside Transaid colleagues Caroline Barber and Maddy Matheson.

Spirits were high throughout the day, with supporters cheering runners along the route and several members of the team celebrating new personal bests as they crossed the finish line.

Following the race, runners and supporters came together for a well-earned celebratory drink, generously sponsored by GXO and PROMAN.

Thank you

Maddy Matheson, Head of Fundraising at Transaid, who also took part in the race, says:

“It was fantastic to be part of such a brilliant team of runners, and to experience the atmosphere of the Royal Parks Half Marathon first-hand. We had perfect weather and exceptional support along the route and, most importantly, raised an incredible £15,000 to support Transaid’s work.

“A huge thank you to everyone who took on the challenge, donated or came along to cheer us on.”

The funds raised will support Transaid’s work with partners across sub-Saharan Africa to improve road safety and access to healthcare, helping more people access safer transport and essential services.
