2026 Motor Transport Awards raises £26,000 for Transaid

On Wednesday 9 September, Transaid was delighted to join more than 1,300 guests at the 40th Motor Transport Awards, where we were proud to once again be the beneficiary charity of the event.

Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, the landmark anniversary event celebrated outstanding individuals and organisations from across the road freight industry, with a line-up of celebrity presenters helping to make it a memorable evening.

The generosity of the Motor Transport team, guests and prize donors helped raise an incredible £26,400 for Transaid, supporting our vital road safety and access to healthcare programmes across sub-Saharan Africa.

During the evening, Transaid Chief Executive Caroline Barber took to the stage to share an update on our work and reflect on the extraordinary support we have received through the Motor Transport Awards. Over the last decade, the event has raised more than £220,000 for Transaid, helping to move people, save lives and build futures.

Guests contributed £11,000 on the night through two fantastic live auction lots alone, and the additional £15,000 was raised through a packed silent auction and a charity casino, kindly sponsored by Palletline.

Transaid would like to congratulate all of this year’s nominees and winners. A full list of winners can be found here.

Earlier in the day, we were pleased to co-host a collaboration and networking luncheon with Asset Alliance Group at Arbuthnot Latham, bringing together representatives from across the transport and logistics industry.

Attendees included colleagues from Asset Alliance Group, Brigade Electronics, Backhouse Jones, DAF, Go-Ahead, Hankook, The Malcolm Group, Michelin, the RHA and Radius. The luncheon generated constructive discussions around opportunities for greater collaboration and support for Transaid.

We are immensely grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s Motor Transport Awards such a success, from our generous prize donors and volunteers to every guest who bid, pledged or took part on the night.

Our sincere thanks also go to the Motor Transport Awards team for their continued support for Transaid.
