Microlise Transport Conference and VIP Dinner raises almost £7,000

Transaid was delighted to attend the 2026 Microlise Transport Conference and VIP Dinner, which raised almost £7,000 for Transaid’s programmes through a raffle and silent auction.

The VIP gala dinner welcomed 400 guests to the Driver of the Year Awards, celebrating the outstanding drivers working across the UK transport industry and recognising the vital role they play in keeping the country moving.

Sharing Transaid’s work

During the evening, Transaid Chief Executive Caroline Barber addressed guests and shared an update on Transaid’s programmes. Caroline introduced a short film highlighting the impact of a community-based approach to implementing rectal artesunate, a vital pre-referral treatment that buys time for children with severe malaria while they travel to seek medical care. Caroline emphasised that if a child with severe malaria does not reach treatment in time, their chance of survival is just 10%.

In the film, Dr. Haachile Moonga, District Director of Health Services in Serenje District, Zambia, reflected on the importance of collaboration, saying: “When we have so many helping hands that are willing to play a part, then the future is bright.”

Caroline also recognised Transaid’s longstanding 10 year partnership with Microlise, which has raised an incredible £250,000 to date through cycle challenges, prize donations and co-hosting the Transaid Cup alongside Libra Europe.

Earlier in the day, Transaid was pleased to connect with partners, supporters and friends at the Transport Conference.
