UKWA Awards for Excellence Lunch raises £5,000 for Transaid
The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) Awards for Excellence raised an incredible £5,000 to support Transaid’s road safety and access to healthcare programmes across sub-Saharan Africa.
Held on Wednesday 15 July at the Royal Lancaster London, the annual event brought together professionals from across the warehousing and logistics sector to celebrate excellence while raising vital funds for charity.
Guests generously supported Transaid throughout the afternoon, with fundraising activities including a lively Heads & Tails game, kindly sponsored by Warehouse & Logistics News.
Transaid was also delighted to receive an additional £1,000 donation from IMHX, sponsor of the Awards for Excellence Lunch.
Caroline Barber, Chief Executive of Transaid, updated guests on Transaid’s programmes, and emphasised how something as simple as a bicycle can save lives.
“The power of a tool or a system isn’t measured by how advanced it is, but by what it makes possible. And for the communities we work with, a bicycle is a lifeline.
“Thank you to UKWA, our partners, and all of you here today. Sometimes the most powerful asset isn’t the warehouse or the newest technology; sometimes it’s a bicycle, in the right place, at the right time, with people like you behind it.”
Transaid would like to extend a sincere thank you to UKWA for its continued support, IMHX for its generous additional donation, Warehouse & Logistics News for sponsoring the fundraising activity, and everyone who donated and took part on the day.
