Apply for Transaid’s exclusive charity place!

Transaid is delighted to have secured its first-ever exclusive charity place in the TCS London Marathon 2027.

We have one place available for a runner who can maximise fundraising opportunities and act as an enthusiastic ambassador for Transaid in the lead-up to the event.

Minimum age (at time of race): 18

Who should apply?

We’re looking for someone who:

Is passionate about supporting Transaid’s work
Has a strong and realistic fundraising plan
Is committed to raising at least £2,800
Will actively share their journey and help raise awareness of Transaid

FAQs

In addition to paying a registration fee of £150, we will ask you to fundraise a minimum of £2,800 excluding gift aid.

We will ask you to achieve the following fundraising milestones:
- £700 by 31 December 2026
- £1,400 by 28 February 2027
- £2,100 by 31 March 2027
- £2,800 by 30 April 2027
If you are not making reasonable progress towards these milestones and have not engaged with support offered by Transaid, Transaid reserves the right to withdraw your charity place and reallocate it to another applicant.
As well as fundraising, we hope our marathon runner will help share our work with their networks. This could include posting about you training and fundraising journey on social media, sharing Transaid stories and impact, encouraging donations, and helping us raise awareness of how safe, available and sustainable transport transforms lives across sub-Saharan Africa.

You don’t need to be an influencer or have a large following. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting Transaid and willing to champion our work throughout their marathon journey.

Please note that this is separate to our Transaid Ambassador scheme, although you are very welcome to also join the scheme!
If you have secured your own place in the TCS London Marathon 2027 through the ballot, we would be delighted to welcome you to Team Transaid.

There is no need to fill in the application form or meet a minimum fundraising pledge if you have your own place, but every pound you raise will help us continue our vital work improving access to transport and road safety across sub-Saharan Africa.
