Almost £10,000 raised for Transaid at Logistics UK 2023 Awards

Transaid attended Logistics UK’s Annual Awards reception and celebratory gala dinner as the beneficiary charity last week, and raised £9,732 through a raffle and auction during the event.

Held at the prestigious Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London, the awards recognised and commemorated the businesses and individuals that have made a significant contribution to the logistics industry and wider economy over the last twelve months.

Our Chief Executive Caroline Barber shared updates from Transaid, including how we have trained almost 7,000 drivers at our partner training centres in Africa in the last year, directly helping to reduce death and injury on the roads.

We congratulate Transaid’s partners Menzies Distribution on receiving the award for logistics partner of the year, and also Dawsongroup plc on receiving most innovative product of the year.

We were delighted that Transaid’s partner Brigade Electronics plc took home the award for diversity and inclusion champion of the year, following its installation of advanced safety equipment in two donated trucks which are travelling to Transaid’s partner training centre in Zambia. This will equip new drivers with essential skills and tools for safe navigation, creating a culture of safety and inclusivity for all.

Transaid is grateful to the attendees at the event for their generous support for the raffle, which will contribute significantly to Transaid’s road safety and access to health care programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.

A particular thanks to our winning auction bidders, Richard Smith, Managing Director at the Road Haulage Association, as well as James Hamilton, Chief Executive at Rudolph and Hellman Automotive.

Transaid would also like to thank Miniclipper Logistics, Iron Mountain, the Malcolm Group, and Howard Tenens Logistics for their raffle prize donations, as well as Brigade and Transaid Ambassadors for their generous auction prize donations.

A final thanks from Transaid goes to Logistics UK for their ongoing support and for hosting Transaid as the beneficiary charity once again.

A huge congratulations to all of the well-deserved award winners of the evening, as well as those shortlisted, for their fantastic achievements in delivering outstanding work over the last 12 months. A full list of the winners can be found here.
