Early this year, Transaid were delighted to be chosen as one of DHL Supply Chain’s charities of the year for 2015. As part of this, a team of 10 cyclists from the AMCoE headquarters in Manchester decided to organise a cycle ride for Transaid. On Thursday afternoon the team made their way to Ringinglow, Sheffield, the starting point for their 50 mile cycle ride. After a hearty breakfast and a stretching session (led by Transaid’s very own head of marketing and communications!), the group set off, beginning the ride with a challenging climb.
The ride covered some stunning scenery through the peak district, as well as lots of hills and some steep passages, before the route started to even out on the approach to Manchester. After a final flat and fast 10 miles, the group reached AMCoE headquarters in Manchester, where they were welcomed by the team there with confetti and a much deserved lunch!
So far, the team have raised over £1800 for Transaid – an absolutely amazing amount of money. A huge thank you to all the cyclists, and a special thank you to the AMCoE support team for organising such a fantastic ride and a great fundraising effort.
