Thank you for helping us reach a Christmas Appeal record!

In September 2022 we launched our annual Christmas Appeal, once again calling on individuals and companies from across the transport and logistics industry to help us transform lives during the festive period.

With the Appeal now having ended, we are delighted to announce that we have raised an outstanding £37,274. The total is over £1,000 higher than last year’s amount, making it the most successful Christmas Appeal in Transaid history. A huge thank you to everyone who helped us to raise this amount, which will contribute significantly to our programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.

This year, the corporate aspect of the Appeal once again offered companies a choice of bronze, silver or gold supporters’ packages. In return for their contributions, supporters received a combination of publicity packages which included: social media coverage; personalised e-cards; personalised thanking videos, and logo placement in Transaid’s festive adverts in industry media.

We were proud to run festive adverts in a record sixteen industry publications, these included: Coach & Bus Week, Cold Chain News, Commercial Motor, CILT focus, Export & Freight, Forwarder Magazine, Handling and Storage Solutions, Logistics Business, Logistics UK Newsletter, Motor Transport, RHA Roadway, Route One, SHD Logistics, Transport & Logistics Magazine, Transport news, and UKWA Warehouse. All of these publications very generously donated their advert space free of charge.

We also ran a parallel Appeal aimed at individuals in the lead up to and on Giving Tuesday – a nation-wide charitable giving movement that encourages people to give back to the causes that are important to them. A huge thank you to the individuals that supported the Appeal directly through our Just Giving page. We are pleased to report that a total of £1,474 was raised by individual donors.

A substantial percentage of the overall total was made up by the record-breaking 49 companies that kindly purchased one of the packages. As an organisation working to solve transport challenges in sub-Saharan Africa, we are proud to receive the continued support of the transport and logistics industry.

A huge thank you to all the incredible people and companies who made this Appeal our most successful to date, from the publications who donated advert space, to the many companies and individuals who have supported us so far. We were as ever humbled by the generosity people showed to us during the festive season.
