USAID partnership for health
Transaid will be working on a new partnership with USAID and the Government of Madagascar under the USAID Community Capacity for Health Program. This will build on a strong foundation of change in Madagascar; the country is poised to accelerate progress, and reduce maternal, child and newborn mortality and morbidity by improving community health services and systems.
We will be partnering with lead partner JSI, as well as FHI360 and Action Socio-sanitaire Organization Secours of Madagascar. A five-year cooperative agreement, the programme will work in seven remote regions in the north and west of the island. This follows the success of the Community-Based Integrated Health program (CBIHP – also known as MAHEFA), a USAID-funded integrated community health programme, which worked in six of these same regions.
