UKWA Awards for Excellence 2025 raises over £2,400 for Transaid

Transaid was delighted to attend the United Kingdom Warehousing Association’s (UKWA) Awards for Excellence at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London this week, where over £2,400 was raised for our programmes.

Transaid Chief Executive Caroline Barber updated attendees on Transaid’s road safety and access to healthcare programmes, sharing that Transaid and partners delivered training to over 9,000 truck drivers, bus drivers, forklift operators, trainers, and motorcycle riders in Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania and Ghana over the past year.

Caroline also highlighted the important work that the warehousing sector carries out to ensure access to healthcare, especially regarding storage of critically needed medication. Caroline thanked attendees and members of UKWA for their continued support: “Transaid’s success is down to our industry – the transport, logistics and warehousing sector, which chooses to step up.

“Time and again, UKWA members have shown what partnership looks like in practice: from fundraising and sponsorship, to sending knowledge and equipment across continents. Your support quite literally moves people, saves lives, and builds futures.”

Thanks to the generosity of Warehouse and Logistics News, who sponsored the ‘Heads & Tails’ prize, and everyone who donated, we raised an incredible amount for our programmes.

We would like to thank UKWA, one of our corporate members, for kindly hosting Transaid as the beneficiary charity of the event once again.

We would also like to congratulate our corporate partner The Malcolm Group for winning Logistics Service Provider of the Year, and our corporate partner DHL for being shortlisted for the award.
