Transaid visit Coach & Bus Live

Transaid participated in this year’s Coach & Bus Live, which took place on 30th September – 1st October. Transaid’s stand offered some of the show’s 6,000 visitors a chance to learn more about the kind of programmes the charity is engaged with in sub-Saharan Africa, whilst promoting our new cycling challenge, Cycle South Africa 2017. The marketing team received fantastic support from Transaid ambassadors Craig Porteous, Peter MacLeod and Chris Owens, who drew on their past cycle challenge experiences to try and convince unsuspecting passers-by that South Africa 2017 was for them. Thank you Craig, Peter and Chris!

The event also provided an opportunity to meet our corporate and institutional members and supporters, who provide invaluable support to our programmes in Africa. On Tuesday night, the RouteOne Awards was held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. Transaid CEO Gary Forster was invited to present the Manager of the Year Award (large operator- over 150 vehicles), which was won by Fiona Kerr of First Glasgow.

Thank you to the RouteOne team for their hospitality at the Awards, and also to the Coach and Bus Live team for generously donating a stand to Transaid- we hope to see you again next year!
