The Heavies raises £8,281!
‘The Heavies’ awards celebrated its 2nd Birthday on Friday night, in Hangar 42 of Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire. £8,281 was raised on the night, an incredible total that was achieved by way of a game of ‘Heads and Tails’- which raised £1,931- and an auction of ten brilliant lots, where guests bid generously to raise a further £6,350 for Transaid!
Throughout the course of the evening, nineteen awards were awarded for excellence in the abnormal load movement industry. Sally Boazman- known as ‘Sally Traffic’ by her Radio 2 listeners- hosted the evening, and provided enthusiastic support for Transaid as she led the game of Heads and Tails with Transaid’s CEO, Gary Forster.
Thank you to The Heavies for hosting Transaid as the beneficiary charity for the evening, and to all of the guests for donating so generously to Transaid’s life-saving transport programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa. A special thank you also to John Green from Rydam Universal Ltd for his efforts in sourcing ten wonderful auction prizes!
