The 2024 Big Logistics Diversity Challenge raises almost £1,000 for Transaid
On 20 June, Transaid attended the Big Logistics Diversity Challenge as the beneficiary charity once again. Companies representing the UK’s logistics and transport industry came together at Newark Showground, for a day filled with team-building activities and networking, and all designed to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
First held in 2019, the challenge is delivered by Nimble Media and has now become a staple in the industry’s event calendar, demonstrating the enthusiasm and support companies have for improving equality, diversity, and inclusion, as well as the business benefits attained by establishing a diverse workforce.
The headline sponsor this year was Yusen Logistics, and a charity tuck shop was kindly supported by Coca-Cola Europacific partners. Attendees raised almost £1,000 for Transaid’s road safety and access to healthcare programmes through buying raffle tickets and items from the charity tuck shop.
Attendees participated in challenges designed to promote teamwork in a series of physical, mental, and skill-based sessions, including Catwalk Challenge, Toxic Jigsaw, Human Table Football, the Mighty Quiz and Dancing with the Shows.
The event was opened by Transaid Ambassador Richard Atkinson, Deputy Director of Executive Education (Supply Chain and Engineering) at Aston University, who is also an ambassador for the event.
Transaid representatives, Georgia Ryan and Anna Giavedoni hosted the 39 Steps challenge, which tested the memory and communication skills of teams. Transaid then presented the 39 Steps challenge award to a team from the Royal Airforce, who demonstrated creativity, amazing teamwork, and a healthy competitive spirit during the challenge.
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Nimble Media for their continued support of Transaid, and to all the attendees for their generous donations.
