Our RTITB forklift challenge

Transaid is partnering with RTITB for a forklift challenge. We are delighted to be chosen as the charity partner for this year’s RTITB Operator of the Year competition, which celebrates the very best in forklift operator safety, skill and efficiency. A Transaid raffle will be held, with tickets available during the International Materials Handling Exhibition (IMHX) and the competition’s Grand Final. There will even be Transaid-themed practical tests taking place throughout the competition’s three stages.

Laura Nelson, RTITB Managing Director said: “We’re gearing up for our biggest competition yet, and teaming up with Transaid during this is ideal. Not only is it a worthy cause, but the goals of our competition align with Transaid’s drive to improve professional skills, raise the standards of transport companies, and highlight the importance of materials handling health and safety standards in developing companies. A growing number of volunteers from the industry have also seconded volunteers to promote these skills in Africa.

“By entering forklift drivers in RTITB’s International Operator of the Year competition, companies will gain an instant insight into their performance and knowledge, allowing them to identify risks to safety and efficiency. Every operator that enters the online test will receive an analysis of their performance, as well as a benchmark report to show how they performed against other operators in the UK and worldwide. These complimentary reports reveal where improvements can be made to training programs and help reduce risk by identifying areas where immediate attention is required.

“We’re looking forward to recognising and celebrating operators on an international stage. In the meantime, we would encourage everyone to get involved today, and donate to Transaid on their sign up page!”

Entry to the online testing closes on the 1st July, to request an entry pack email opofyear@rtitb.co.uk.
