Over £18,000 raised for Transaid at the 2024 Multimodal Awards

Transaid was delighted to have once again been chosen as the beneficiary charity of the Multimodal Awards, which took place on the first evening of the Multimodal Exhibition and Conference at the NEC in Birmingham.

Transaid is incredibly grateful for the generosity of the Multimodal 2024 organisers and the 900 attendees, which helped to raise more than £18,000 for our programmes.

This year, football legend Kevin Keegan presented the Multimodal Awards, which recognise excellence across the logistics industry. The categories included six voted for by the industry, eight judged by a panel, and two nominated by the Multimodal team.

Transaid’s CEO Caroline Barber, who recently returned from a trip to Zambia with many attending corporate partners, addressed the attendees and thanked them for their continued support of Transaid’s work.

Caroline gave updates on Transaid’s programmes, including that over the last twelve months, Transaid and partners have trained almost 11,000 truck drivers, bus drivers, forklift operators, trainers and motorcycle riders – a 45 percent increase on the previous year.

Caroline also shared Amanda’s story from Zambia, who was able to safely deliver her twins at a health facility because she had access to a bicycle ambulance. Attendees were invited to support Transaid via the pledge cards on their tables, as well as through a table raffle and live auction.

Transaid is grateful to the following companies for donating fantastic prizes to the raffle:

  • Woodland Group (Formula 1000 single-seater experience for two)
  • The London Freight Club (Oval Cricket Ground Tour, Match Day Ticket and Sparkling Afternoon Tea for Two)
  • The Malcolm Group (A four-ball at Gleneagles)
  • Irish Freight Solutions (A four-ball at the Logistics Leaders Golf Day 2024)

We would also like to thank our winning auction bidders and the following companies for donating generous auction prizes:

  • GXO Logistics (6 Category 1 match tickets for England v Japan at Twickenham)
  • CEVA Logistics (8 hospitality tickets for two upcoming Liverpool games)
  • EORI (UK) Limited (2 tickets to the Grand Prix Ball at Silverstone)

Finally, Transaid would like to congratulate all the award winners of the evening! A full list can be found here.
