£18,000 raised for Transaid at the Multimodal Awards 2025

Transaid was delighted to have once again been chosen as the beneficiary charity of the Multimodal Awards, which took place earlier this week on the first evening of the Multimodal Exhibition and Conference at the NEC in Birmingham.
Thanks to the generosity of the Multimodal 2025 organisers and the 900 attendees, the Awards helped to raise more than £18,000 for our programmes.
This year, rugby legend Martin Bayfield presented the Multimodal Awards, which recognise excellence across the logistics industry. The categories included six voted for by the industry, seven judged by a panel, and two nominated by the Multimodal team.
Transaid’s CEO Caroline Barber was generously invited to update attendees on Transaid’s access to healthcare and road safety work, and the fundraising challenges which attendees can get involved with.
Amongst Transaid’s achievements over the last year were 9,000 truck drivers, bus drivers, forklift operators, trainers, and motorcycle riders trained in Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania and Ghana.
Caroline also shared Esther’s story from Zambia, whose grandmother Josephine cycled her to a health facility so that she could deliver her child via caesarean section, as well as the new guidelines developed by Transaid and partners to treat severe malaria in children using rectal artesunate, a life-saving pre-referral treatment.
Then, Caroline thanked Transaid Ambassador Robert Jervis for raising more than £6,000 for Transaid by walking from Fulham, London, to the NEC in Birmingham – read the full story here.
The announcement of Transaid’s highly anticipated 2026 African cycle challenge, Kilimanjaro to Coast, rounded off Caroline’s speech. Transaid invites teams and individuals from across the transport and logistics industry and beyond to take on this incredible adventure in Tanzania, all to raise even more vital funds for our programmes. Attendees were invited to continue supporting Transaid via the pledge cards on their tables, as well as through a table raffle and live auction.
Transaid is grateful to the following companies for donating fantastic prizes to the raffle:
- Woodland Group (one-night break for two and Morgan Factory tour)
- The London Freight Club (Michelin starred dinner for two at Galvin La Chapelle)
- Irish Freight Solutions (two Club Wembley tickets to an England Game)
- Maersk (Maersk Lego ship)
We would also like to thank our winning auction bidders and the following companies for donating generous auction prizes, which raised a total of £11,200:
- GXO Logistics (Bobby Moore hospitality for four at the Community Shield 2026)
- CEVA Logistics (8 hospitality tickets for two upcoming Liverpool games)
