More than £5,000 raised for Transaid at Logistics UK’s Logistics Awards 2024
Transaid attended Logistics UK’s Annual Awards reception and celebratory gala dinner as the beneficiary charity last night and raised more than £5,000 through a raffle and auction during the event.
Held at the prestigious Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London, the awards celebrate the businesses and individuals that have made a significant contribution to the logistics industry and wider economy over the past year.
Transaid Chief Executive Caroline Barber shared with attendees that over 11,000 professional drivers and 60 professional driver trainers have been trained by Transaid and partners over the last year in Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania and Ghana. Caroline also spoke on the National Helmet Wearing Coalition in Kenya and a new project focused on improving access to healthcare for long-distance truck drivers in East Africa.
