Martin Port, CEO of BigChange, becomes latest Transaid Ambassador

Transaid is pleased to announce that Martin Port, CEO of Transaid corporate member and transport technology company BigChange, has become the latest Transaid Ambassador.

As CEO, Martin has already facilitated a wide variety of vital and generous support to Transaid. Some examples of this include: hosting a roundtable discussion for which £3,000 was donated to Transaid, donating to 2017’s Christmas Hamper Appeal, and most recently,  after making a winning bid at the 2018 Motor Transport Awards charity auction, redonating his prize with an impassioned speech on behalf of Transaid, thereby raising an extra £9000.

Martin got the chance to see the impact of our programmes first-hand when he joined us on the Supporters’ Trip to Zambia this March, meeting a range of stakeholders, from health facility staff to community members in Serenje, where our MAMaZ Against Malaria programme has made a huge difference to increasing access to treatment for people with severe malaria. He also visited the Industrial Training Centre (ITC) in Lusaka, gaining a close-up our professional driver training projects.

Based in Leeds, BigChange was established in 2013 and caters to businesses of all sizes with its all-in-one system for planning, managing, scheduling and tracking the mobile workforce and transport operations.

Transaid is looking forward to welcoming Martin on board and building on the incredible support we have already received from him and his organisation.

Martin Port said: “It is a real honour and privilege to become a Transaid Ambassador and join a great team of people all focused on promoting the incredible work Transaid carry out in Africa”.
