HRH The Princess Royal meets new generation at Norbert Dentressangle
HRH The Princess Royal today paid a visit to Norbert Dentressangle’s operation in Corby, meeting some of the company’s apprentices and young managers.
The visit is one of a number of engagements throughout the year in the Princess’s capacity as Patron of international development charity, Transaid, of which Norbert Dentressangle is a strong and active supporter.
For Norbert Dentressangle, the visit represented a celebration of its unique commitment to attracting and developing the very best people, in line with its ‘You Grow, We Grow’ philosophy.
Her Royal Highness was met by local dignitaries and representatives from Norbert Dentressangle, including Richard Cawston, Managing Director of Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK Ltd and Malcolm Wilson, Executive Board member.
Following a tour of the site, The Princess met a number of Norbert Dentressangle’s apprentices, along with David Wells, a young manager who recently spent six months in Tanzania working on behalf of Transaid as part of Norbert Dentressangle’s Fast Track Talent Programme.
Richard Cawston said: “The concept of sustainable development is at the heart of Norbert Dentressangle’s business – our commitment to attracting and developing talent within our business and working with Transaid to use this for the greater good are two great examples of this commitment.
“We are honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness to our Corby site, just one of many operations where we are creating employment opportunities for young people and fostering the next generation of talent.”
Gary Forster, Transaid Chief Executive said: “Our corporate supporters are the foundation of Transaid’s success, and we are extremely grateful to Norbert Dentressangle, not only for their financial contribution but also for sharing their valuable knowledge and expertise. We are delighted that Her Royal Highness joined us today to celebrate this crucial for Transaid partnership and our joint achievements.”
