Heywood clan conquer Mount Fuji

Guy, Helen, Max and Joe Heywood have successfully completed their ascent of Mount Fuji, raising valuable funds Transaid. As if the herculean 6,000 metre climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Transaid last summer wasn’t enough, this year the Heywood family set themselves a new challenge. Guy Heywood, who is the Commercial Director of Michelin’s truck and bus tyre division, has spent the last 12 days trekking in Japan with his family, with the tour culminating in the ascent of the iconic Japanese mountain on the outskirts of Tokyo. What’s more, in June Guy was part of the 30-strong team that completed the Cycle Tanzania Challenge in aid of Transaid, raising an incredible sum of £137,000 in the process!

So far the Heywood’s have beaten their £500 target to raise the fantastic sum of £585 in support of Transaid’s ongoing programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa. We cannot thank all four members of this remarkable family enough for their kind support and truly impressive effort. The money they have raised is essential for Transaid’s work abroad and without such support it would not be possible- thank you very much from all of us!
