The 2025 BIFA Freight Service Awards raise £4,500
The 37th BIFA Freight Service Awards welcomed more than 480 attendees to The Brewery in London on Thursday 15 January, raising £4,500 for Transaid through a charity raffle.
The awards celebrate individuals and organisations who go above and beyond in the freight industry. Hosted by TV presenter, adventurer, author, and conservationist Steve Backshall, the event recognised outstanding companies across nine award categories, alongside the Apprentice of the Year and Young Freight Forwarder awards.
Transaid’s Chief Executive Caroline Barber was invited to share updates on our work and opportunities to get involved. She said:
“Over the past 12 months, Transaid and our partners have trained almost 12,000 professional drivers in Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania and Ghana. We have also been delivering eye testing and corrective glasses in Kenya, which is especially important where truck drivers share the road with cyclists and children walking to school.”
Caroline also encouraged attendees to join our Isle of Wight or Kilimanjaro to Coast cycle challenges, or to enter a team for the Transaid Cup and Royal Parks Half Marathon.
We are extremely grateful to Steve Parker and the BIFA team for kindly hosting Transaid at the awards, and to all attendees for their generosity. Funds raised will help support our road safety and access to healthcare programmes across sub-Saharan Africa.
Our thanks also go to BIFA, London Freight Club, OIA Global, Samphire Customs, Simpex Express and Woodland Group for their generous raffle prize donations. We would also like to congratulate our corporate partner Simpex Express for winning European Logistics Forwarder of the Year.
Finally, congratulations to all the award winners and finalists for their outstanding achievements over the past year. The full list of winners can be found here.
