Mike Sacker

Mike has worked within the Logistics and transport sector for 30 years. Having studied Transport and Distribution at Huddersfield University, he started his career at Safeway supermarkets as the National transport scheduler working with the depots to improve their planning to stores. He continued his career in transport solution design working with Exel Logistics and then DHL across multiple industry sectors and was a key part of the team that set up and managed the Ford European LLP (4PL).  He left DHL to work for TDG as the 4PL development director in a commercial and product development role. Since leaving TDG he has been working as a Logistics consultant working directly with organisations to improve their transport and supply chain operations. He now works for Libra Europe ltd, a change management consultancy where he heads up the Supply Chain and Logistics division. Mike would like to raise the awareness of Transaid with his network and clients, and would like to bring his transport planning experience to areas of the world where operational improvements are a real challenge.  In his spare time he likes to ‘tread the boards’ as part of an amateur dramatics group where he both directs, produces and acts in plays.
