Here's a look at what your money could buy!
£100 will provide a selection of training videos and books
Your donation could help us provide much needed training materials to build a library of resources for trainers and trainees to access. This will help make classroom training more engaging and interactive and help trainers to get life-saving messages across faster and more powerfully.
£250 will provide personal protective equipment for five trainers
Your donation could help keep our driver trainers safe and seen by ensuring they are kitted out with high visibility jackets and protective gloves.
£300 will train an HGV driver
Your donation could provide a three week professional driver course for a trainee driver giving the trainee vital driving skills. This training will give a trainee a valuable start in life, help them to begin a professional career and genuinely help to provide skills to keep people alive.
The alternative method for aspiring professional truck drivers is often to work as an unofficial ‘lorry boy’ - driving a loaded vehicle long distances across Africa with no training on how to handle such a responsibility, posing a very real threat to themselves and other road users. Though this practice is frowned upon, it is unfortunately unregulated and widespread.
£600 will provide a pedestrian walkway to keep pedestrians safe
In the transport industry, we understand the importance of making the areas where people and vehicles interface safe. Your donation could help to protect trainees from being injured by allowing Transaid to mark clear and long lasting walkways at the ITC Trust to ensure pedestrians are separated from vehicles.
£1200 will train one driver trainer
Your donation could cover the cost to send an experienced driver trainer from the UK to Zambia to help build the skills of a local driver trainer. Using expertise and best practice from the UK transport industry we can help trainers develop their practical training skills even further as well as sharing techniques to help students become safer drivers.
£1500 will fund a three week professional training course for five trainee drivers
Your donation could equip five trainee drivers with vital driving skills to help make Zambia’s roads safer for all.
