We are honoured to announce that Transaid was selected as the winner of The Worshipful Company of Carmen’s 2006 Viva Award.
According to the company ‘the Viva shield is awarded annually for the invention, principle, development, production, implemented systems or idea which contributes most notably to the advancement of transport…’
In the past the award as attributed to prestigious winners such as:
. Eurotunnel awarded for the Channel Tunnel (1994)
. GEC – Mowlem Railway Group awarded for the Dockland Light Railway (1986)
. British Railways awarded for the High Speed Train (1976)
. John Laing & Son Limited awarded for the construction of the M1 (1959)
This year Transaid was recognised with the prize for resolving difficulty facing children’s charities in the third world its innovative work with transport and health services in Africa and other developing countries.
