Transaid was delighted to be chosen once again the beneficiary charity of the UK Bus Awards 2011.
The lunchtime ceremony on 29th of November was hosted by BBC News Presenter Jane Hill and the Keynote Address was given by Norman Baker MP - Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Transport; Gillian Merron, Chair, Bus Users UK presented the awards.
Table draw conducted during the ceremony raised £3,901.18 which is nearly £800 more then the last year! Funds will contribute to the running of Transaid’s Professional Driver Training Project in Tanzania. Through the training of trainers, Transaid is working to increase the capacity of Tanzanian organisations to deliver quality driver training, ensuring that drivers can be safer and more risk aware, ultimately saving lives.
