Trek Ethiopia Completed!

A team of transport industry professionals completed first ever Transaid Trek! Challengers returned from Ethiopia, where they trekked over 60 km, up to nine hours per day to raise money for Transaid.

Their trip began and ended in the capital, Addis Ababa, and took them on a trail over the spectacular Simien Mountains, which include peaks more than 4,000 metres high, and through national parks inhabited by rare species including gelada baboons, ibexes and Simien wolves.

Group of 10 Transaid supporters spent also some time in surrounding villages and marketplaces, met local people and learnt about Ethiopian culture and language from their guides. Challengers not only discovered beautiful Ethiopia but also gained insight into a significance of Transaid work in Africa. Trek Ethipia proved to be an amazing experience for all the participants and one not to be forgotten.

Trek Ethiopia Challengers raised over £32 000 and there is still more funds coming in to support life saving projects that Transaid run in Africa.
