The course took place from 28th September to 2nd October at the Fire Services Training College in Moreton in Marsh. The trainees ranged from complete newcomers to experienced field logisticians.

Transaid’s Gary Forster delivered training on the following Fleet Management topics:

• Transport Policy
• Operational Management
• Key Performance Indicators
• Fleet Safety
• Human Resources
• Planned Preventative Maintenance
• Financial Management for Fleet Operations
• Use of Satellite Tracking

Transaid also provided the trainees with a series of fleet management tools and templates for practical use in the field. The training was backed up by a number of practical examples taken from 15 years of Transaid’s work with vehicle fleets in Africa.
