Twenty-five challengers from the UK transport industry spent five days cycling in Tanzania and raising more than £95 000 for Transaid live saving projects!
A team of 25 fundraisers cycled 420 km in stunning landscape of Tanzania on a real mixture of off road and tarmac in temperatures of up to 46 degrees! Highlights of the challenge included cycling through Sadaani National Park and seeing giraffes cross the road in front of the park, crossing a river on the bike, and passing through virtually untouched villages where the people were very welcoming and the children lined the roads to high-five cyclists.
The challenge proved to be the most rewarding life experience but also allowed the participants to see first-hand how dangerous the roads in Africa can be and how important is raising driver standards in order to save lives.
