December's Supporter of the Month feature recognises Pall-Ex, for their extraordinary fundraising efforts for Transaid throughout 2006.

 

At the pallet network's 10th anniversary dinner dance, held at the Celtic Manor Resort near Cardiff in Wales in November, MD Hilary Devey presented Transaid CEO Chris Saunders with a cheque for £14,680, which includes a donation from its Penny a Pallet initiative, an innovative scheme which sees a penny donated for every pallet transhipped through the company's Leicestershire hub, and the proceeds from its corporate Golf Day. With a table collection and auction, the total donated to Transaid on the evening reached over £17,000.

 

This is on top of a Penny a Pallet donation of £7,000 earlier in the year, and the company also helped to raise £30,000 in the Spring by co-hosting a high profile Spring Ball.

 

Not content with just fundraising for Transaid, Hilary travelled to Ghana herself in April 2006 to see for herself the need for our work.
