The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation releases video on the MAMaZ Against Malaria programme

Since July last year, Transaid has been part of the programme MAMaZ Against Malaria (MAM), an innovative approach to beating malaria. This is a collaboration between Medicines for Malaria Ventures (MMV), Transaid, Development Data, Disacare, Health Partners Zambia, the National Malaria Elimination Center of Zambia and the District Health Management Team, Serenje.

Since the project began, there has been a 96% reduction in children under six dying of severe malaria in Serenje District, Zambia.

In the wake of these positive results, we are delighted to show the above video, produced by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It illustrates how this programme works to tackle cases of severe malaria in children under six in rural communities in Zambia, and features Transaid’s own Project Manager, Victor Simfukwe.
