Transaid was delighted to be chosen as the beneficiary charity for the Multimodal Show 2011. The exhibition was launched in 2008 and Transaid was proud to participate in the ceremony for the second time.
Multimodal creates a great forum for Transaid to raise awareness of its projects and work to shippers, lines, airlines, ports, rail companies and haulage companies in the UK.
Transaid also launched its newest overseas challenge, Cycle Madagascar 2012, during the show at the NEC and hold a raffle with the fantastic mountain bicycle as the raffle prize. Throughout the three days show Transaid collected £630. Thank you to everyone who bought the raffle ticket, huge thank you to Michelin who donated a bicycle and to all Transaid volunteers!
Transaid was also chosen as a beneficiary charity of the Elect Dinner which was a part of the Multimodal 2012. During this evening event for the shippers, train lines, cargo companies and ports, Transaid hold a table raffle with fantastic prizes. We collected an amazing amount of £2200. Huge thank you to everyone who bought the raffle ticket and to sponsors of the raffle prizes - Assi Transport UK, DFDS Seaways and Forest of Arden, A Marriott Hotel and Country Club.
Transaid would like to thank all Multimodal team for their great support and generosity prior, during and after the event. Only thanks to this help we can continue our life saving work. All the funds raised from the Multimodal 2012 and the Elect Dinner will contribute to the smooth running of Transaid's projects in Africa and combat biggest challenges in the developing world.
