International development charity Transaid is launching a nationwide search to find 30 individuals from across the UK transport and logistics industry to take part in the ‘Transaid Cycle Zambia Challenge 2009’.

HRH The Princess Royal today acknowledged the work of international development charity, Transaid, and key supporter Iveco at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2008, held at the NEC in Birmingham.

CEVA Logistics enables sustainable transport solution in Ghana - 31 March 2008
One of the leading supply chain companies in the world, CEVA Logistics is supporting Transaid, the international transport charity, with a pioneering project in Accra, Ghana. The project will provide a community of 1,000 female market workers with the means of designing and controlling a transport service that will improve their personal safety and livelihoods, grow their businesses and allow them to live a fuller family and community life. Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Iveco, has donated three Iveco Dailys vans towards the project.

Transaid works to make African roads safer - 27 February 2008
Ask most people to name a problem overwhelming Africa and they will reply:
"Aids." After all Annie Lennox, Bob Geldof, and goodness knows how many other ageing rock stars have taken a media circus with them to highlight the plight of poor communities ravaged by this illness. And it is a problem that world should be aware of and address. But there is another huge killer in Africa, the biggest killer of young men after Aids that hardly anyone talks about - road deaths.

IVECO deliver the goods for female market traders in Ghana - December 2007
Female market trading co-operatives across Accra in Ghana are preparing to take delivery of three brand new Iveco Daily Vans, (seen in the photograph supplied), as part of a new initiative by international development charity, Transaid. The ground breaking programme will enable the trading women of Accra to control and effectively manage their own sustainable fleet of Iveco Daily’s, facilitating the livelihood potential for thousands of women traders operating in the country.

Alliance and Leicester to support Transaid - October 2007
Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank, based in Manchester, are the latest to climb aboard as members of international development charity Transaid and will be helping them to reduce poverty in Africa through better managed, safer and more efficient transport.
Land Rover helps get 'Sally Traffic' moving on charity ride - October 2007
Land Rover has donated one of its branded bicycles to BBC traffic reporter, Sally Boazman, to help her on her way on an epic charity ride across the Rift Valley in Kenya.
Sally, affectionately known as "Sally Traffic" by her Radio 2 colleagues, is embarking on the 400 km ride in Kenya to raise money for Transaid. Sally is one of 25 riders aiming to raise £70,000. Transaid is the international development charity which tackles poverty and improves lives through providing better access to basic services such as health, education and economic opportunities across Africa and the developing world.

Spot the Transaid Trailer to Win Great Prizes - 09 January 08
Most people have heard of train and plane spotting, but now Transaid has teamed up with logistics services specialist Wincanton and trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull for a game of ‘Spot the Transaid Trailer’ on the roads of Britain until the end of April 2008.
