Transaid in brief
Transaid is an international development charity that specializes in transport management, with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa.
Aims: To build local transport skills & knowledge to improve access to basic services, like healthcare, and opportunities to make a living. We also work on cross-cutting themes, like HIV & AIDS and road safety awareness, to combat some of the negative impacts of transport.
History: Founded by the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (UK) and Save The Children, and became an independent organization in 1998.
