Transaid, for more than 10 years, has been implementing projects to reduce poverty and improve lives in Africa and across the developing world through creating better transport. We have achieved this by building local management skills and knowledge to make transport cheaper, safer and more effective, ensuring better access to the essentials for everyday life such as healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. We combine the expertise of the UK and European Transport and logistics industry with our long experience of working in the developing world and partner with communities, governments, donors and other organisations to achieve our aims.
Everything which Transaid has achieved has only been made possible through the commitment and professionalism of key experts on the ground. On many occasions these experts were derived from Ministries of Health with which Transaid had previously worked, for example in South Africa or Ghana. Now Transaid is seeking to build its capacity in the developing world by attracting, vetting, selecting and sensitizing a cadre of indigenous transport consultants with the skills and experience to complement the core capacity of Transaid’s full time programmes team.
