Profile

Norbert Kazibwe is 29 years old and currently works as a Transport and Logistics Officer for National Medical Stores (NMS) in Entebbe, Uganda.
Prior to working for NMS Norbert worked for Century Bottling, the national Coca Cola manufacturer and distributor in Uganda shipping more than 50,000 cases, or 38 truck loads of soft drink each day.

As a Planning and Distribution Co-ordinator Norbert enjoyed the work very much but was eager for the challenge when he was notified of the position at National Medical Stores. Norbert has two children, both boys, by the name of Harvey and Harlsey. His wife Joanne runs a store selling children’s merchandise in the country’ capital Kampala. Norbert is an enormous Manchester United fan but his true love remains with the Ugandan National team – the cranes. Norbert has even traveled as far as Lesotho to see his countrymen perform.

Life before Transaid

"I am very fortunate that my senior management are motivated to improve all aspects of the work here at National Medical Stores. They realised the opportunity which was in front of them and promptly invited Transaid to assist in conducting a review of the transport operation. We are all relatively new here and there is a lot of work to be done, the review which was conducted by Transaid has served to highlight precisely where we should be focussing our efforts."

Benefit from Transaid project

"When the recommendations from the Transaid review are implemented the districts which we serve won’t know what hit them. We’ll be able to deliver on time, with shorter lead times and for a lower cost, all as a result of increased efficiency through the basic transport management concepts which Transaid has brought to us."

Transaid are extremely grateful to Norbert for sharing his thoughts and comments with us and wish him every success in his career.
