Peter MacLeod

Peter is the former Editor of SHD Logistics, the UK magazine launched in 1957 as Storage Handling Distribution. Before his new position at Adfield Group, he was a business-to-business editor with almost 30 years’ experience across both business and consumer journalism, as well as marketing and PR. Initially qualified and trained as a quantitative chemist, he was drawn into journalism by the lure of a position reporting for a weekly motor racing newspaper. He rose up through the ranks to launch, publish and edit his own Formula One magazine.   Switching to B2B PR and journalism, Peter edited a number of industry titles before being appointed editor of SHD in 2006, only the fifth editor in its illustrious 58-year history. Under Peter's editorship, SHD’s partner website www.shdlogistics.com was launched and has prospered, and several SHD Logistics-branded events have been established, including the annual SHD Logistics Awards, which boasts Transaid as its charity partner.   Commercially astute as well as possessing a keen eye for a story, Peter helped establish SHD Logistics as a profitable and extremely well-respected title, taking it away from a pure materials handling magazine to one that covers the entire logistics industry.   Peter is now the Director of PR at Adfield Group, a marketing, communications and events agency, where he continues to support Transaid at industry events using his industry expertise, and in a personal capacity by participating in our challenge events. Most recently, he completed Cycle South Africa 2017.
