My relationship with Transaid began when I worked for Yusen Logistics, a corporate partner of Transaid, when there was an opportunity for someone at the company to work in Zambia on a 3 month secondment.  Sadly, I was not selected but followed my colleague's blog as she wrote weekly updates about her work there, helping and advising at the driver training school in western Lusaka. I know Lusaka fairly well as it is where my husband lived for the first 25 years of his life, so I have been there several times and seen first hand the brilliant work that Transaid do in the areas of road safety and healthcare. I worked for Yusen for almost 20 years, and was delighted to be offered a position with BIFA last year as it is my opportunity to give a little back to the forwarding industry which has given me so much. BIFA is another corporate partner of Transaid and I am proud to be an Ambassador for Transaid now too. I'm aiming to help to raise the profile even further, encourage people to take on the challenges...and maybe think about tackling one myself one day...
