2010 MAN everywomen in Transport and Logistics Awards
Thursday 13th May 2010
For the third year running Transaid was delighted to have been chosen as the beneficiary charity of the 2010 MAN everywomen in Transport and Logistics Awards.
Transaid held a table raffle which raised an amazing £2,565 for our projects in Africa. Such funds really do allow us to continue to save lives by making transport safer. Transaid would like to thank the companies who donated towards the table draw and to the everywomen team who made the event such a sucess.
Transaid was also over the moon that Caroline Barber, Transaid's Programme Manager for the Professional Driver Training project in Zambia, won the award for 'Rising Star of the Year.' Since being seconded to the driver training centre Caroline has coordinated the training of 711 trainees, tripling the number that was trained in 2007. Aiming to reduce the number of road crashes in the country, it is projects such as these which really do benefit from the funds raised at such events.
